Bagmati river was flooded from early Monday morning following an incessant rainfall in the valley since Sunday night. The river overflowed the diversion bridges at Tinkune and Babarmahal, among others.

It also ran into landless squatters' settlements  around the areas, prompting them to evacuate temporarily. Few were seen moving out to safety collecting their belongings while others were seen clearing the mess from their houses.
