KATHMANDU, March 29: The Chief Minister (CM) of Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jamkattel is going to seek a vote of confidence on April 1.
On Friday, a request for a vote of confidence was presented to the Province Assembly Secretariat.
Following the Nepali Congress's withdrawal of support to the provincial government, CM Jamkattel is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence.
Bagmati CM Jamkattel to seek vote of confidence on July 21
CM Jamkattel is mandated to undergo a vote of confidence within 30 days. Of the 110 members in the Provincial Assembly, he must secure 56 votes to retain confidence.
It is anticipated that CM Jamkattel will secure the vote of confidence with the support of the CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Hamro Nepali Party.
Presently, there are 27 provincial lawmakers from the CPN-UML, 21 from the Maoist Center, seven from CPN (Unified Socialist), and two from the Hamro Nepali Party in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
