Likewise, Kaji Sherpa of Okhaldhunga district, who was accompanying the deceased, has gone missing. Currently, the bodies are kept at the base camp.
“We have been trying to send a rescue team since Sunday for recovering the bodies. But unfavorable weather is thwarting our repeated attempts,” reported Dili Bahadur Thapa, an Inspector at the District Police Office (DPO), Manang.
The region has been experiencing heavy fog accompanied by drizzles since Sunday morning.
“We have been told that a helicopter will pressed into action. But the chopper is yet to arrive due to the bad weather condition,” he added.
According to the police, the guides had died on a trail few miles away from the base camp of Mt. Himulng. Likewise, efforts to trace the missing mountaineer have also been affected.
“His whereabouts remains unknown,” said Raju Sharma, another Inspector at the DPO.
