KATHMANDU, May 4: Suwash Ayer registered a hat-trick and a half-century to help Sudur Paschim Province win a rain-marred match against Karnali Province by 35 runs played at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday in the ongoing Manmohan Memorial U-16 National Cricket Tournament. The 30-over match was reduced to 22 overs per side due to disturbance by rain.
Skipper Ayer dismissed Deepak Gandharv, Sumit Majhi and Ritik Jung Shah to limit Karnali on 79 runs in 18.4 overs chasing the target of 115 helping Sudur Paschim to make it two wins in two matches and sit at second place on Group A points table.
He was supported by two wickets of Sandesh Bhatta and a wicket each from Govind Bist, Sachin Badayak and Ashish Bhatta.

Shah (19 runs), Bibek Shahi (17) and Unish Bikram Singh (13) were the only double-digit scorers of the Karnali innings.
Earlier, player of the match Ayer led the Sudur Paschim batting with 54 runs from 46 deliveries which included eight boundaries. Similarly, his opening batting partner Dhirendra Thakur (12 runs) was the only other double-digit scorer of the innings.
Karnali conceded 13 runs in extras. Mohan Gurung registered three wickets in his name whereas Shah and Singh shared two wickets each for the bowling side.
The Group B match of the day played at the same venue was abandoned due to rain 11.5 overs into the second innings. Both teams shared a point each.
Province 1 was on 33 runs for the loss of three wickets chasing the target of 189 runs posted by Province 2. Bayesh Yadav, Sheikh Imran and Arabaj Ansari had shared a wicket each for Province 1.
Earlier, Province 2’s wicket-keeper batsman Rohan BK smashed 62 runs off 57 deliveries which included five boundaries and four sixes supported by Prasuram Yadav’s unbeaten 51 runs from 45 deliveries which included four boundaries to help post a total of 188 runs for the loss of seven wickets.
Simran Rai, Sonu Mandal and Bipin Mahato picked up 3, 2 and 1 wicket respectively for Province 1.
