KATHMANDU, April 13: Gokarna Raj Awasthi, who was serving as Deputy Director General of has been appointed to the post of Director General of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI).
The Ninth meeting of the Executive Committee of the FNCCI held on April 10 decided to appoint Awasthi to the vacant director general post. He had been serving as Deputy Director General of the FNCCI.
Director General and Deputy Director General of IRD transferred
Awasthi, who holds a Master's degree in management from Tribhuvan University, has a diploma in development journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
According to FNCCI, Awasthi is well-versed in issues related to the economy, private sector and sustainable development. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON) and spent two decades in economic journalism.
Awasthi also possesses experience working as an advisor to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
