Avalanche hits rescue works in Langtang

RASUWA, May 9: Rescue works disrupted due to quake-triggered avalanche in Lamgtang areas continued since April 25, said member secretary at the District Disaster Management Committee and Local Development Officer Gajendra Kumar Thakur.

The April 25 quake badly hit the area and caused huge casualties and damages. Nepal Army's rescue team took out 90 dead bodies from the areas so far. Of 90 dead people, nine were foreign nationals.


Lieutenant Colonel Anup Jung Thapa shared that the rescue works disrupted due to huge piles of avalanche in and around the area.

As many as 160 houses were collapsed while 183 locals, 20 labourers, 80 tourists, 40 tourist guides and 10 NA personnel had gone missing in the areas. RSS
