Avalanche blocks Boksi River in Mustang, local residents urged to be vigilant

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The avalanche has blocked Boksi River in Mustang. 


According to the Chief District Officer of Mustang, Janakraj Pant, the river was blocked due to an avalanche on Boksi River in Gursa, Thasang Rural Municipality-2 of Mustang.

Stating that the Kaligandaki River is about 2 and a half kilometers away from the place where the avalanche occurred, he said that nine households around the river have been notified to stay safe.


Following the avalanche a team of 15 personnel, led by a DSP of the No. 33 Battalion of the APF, was deployed from Mustang.


A team including CDO Pant is currently at the scene and is continuing to study the river blocked by the avalanche.
