ROLPA, May 7: The tuition centres operating illegally in Rolpa district have come under the scanner after repeatedly brushing off public notices prodding them to seek legal permission.
The District Education Office (DEO) in Rolpa has been publishing notices through different forms of media calling on such tuition centres to seek legal permission, despite which none of the tuition centres have come within the legal purview, District Education Officer, Chiranjibi Poudel said.
Poudel has warned that the authorities will take legal action against the tuition centres neglecting the DEO's call to seek permission.
The students, on the other hand, have accused the tuition centres for operating without any set criteria and code, and charging random fees on poor students.
A few days ago the district had witnessed demonstrations from the student unions that demanded cutting short the fees increased randomly and bringing the illegally operating tuition centres within the legal jurisdiction.
The students called off their strike and protest programmes following an agreement as per which the authorities pledged to take necessary legal steps. Dozens of tuitions centres are operating illegally in the district. RSS
