Waling, March 10: The local authorities yesterday made a surprise inspection at the local meat shops in Waling – the prime marketplace of Syangja district.

The inspection held at the initiative of Area Administration Office, Waling revealed inconsistency in pricing, absence of price tags and unregistered shops.

Office Chief, Damodar Sharma, said the shops have been advised to keep their slaughter houses and the platform where the meat is divided clean.

"We have given them suggestion to reform the weaknesses seen in the profession," Sharma shared, adding "We will be holding another round of surprise inspection and take action as per the existing laws if they are not found to have carried out the reforms."

"There is no uniformity in the meat prices within the Waling town," Waling Meat Entrepreneurs' Association Chairman Khemraj Gaudel confided. "We will take action against the shops that have not been selling and distributing meat in prices stipulated by the entrepreneurs' association," he claimed. RSS
