Complying with the geo-political reality in South Asia, the Great King Prithvi Narayan Shah in the late 18th century appropriately defined Nepal as “a yam between two boulders”. However, in due course of time, the equal and great friendship with its two giant neighbors, China and India, intended to ensure Nepal’s overall prosperity, did not live up to the Great King’s expectation.
