Jeevlal Poudel, from ChilawniPokhara in GulmiDarbar Rural Municipality-6, is 81 years old and walks with the help of a cane. He faces difficulty when walking uphill and downhill, and knee pain prevents him from traveling long distances. Until a few years ago, he had to go to Goudakot, a market area with a bank, to collect his old age allowance provided by the government, and he needed the assistance of a family member to accompany him. However, senior citizens like Jeevlal have been greatly relieved after the local government launched a door-to-door service campaign to address the problems faced by its citizens.

International flights stopped at Bhairahawa due to lack of 'business'

BUTWAL, Feb 4: For the first time in Nepal's 74-year aviation history, more than half a dozen foreign airlines wanted to fly in Gautam Buddha International Airport at Bhairahawa outside Kathmandu. During the inauguration ceremony of the airport on May 16, officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said that the international airline companies will come to Bhairahawa within a few months. It was said that airlines from 11 countries including Sri Lankan Airlines, Fly Dubai, Thai Smile, Gulf Air, Oman Air, Qatar Airways, Salam Air are interested in flying from Bhairahawa.
