DAO Kathmandu seeks clarification from Nepal Red Cross Society over alleged financial irregularities (with document)

District Administration Office, Kathmandu has sought clarification from Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) over the alleged financial irregularities in the humanitarian body that receives billions of rupees as donations from foreign countries each year. The DAO Kathmandu stated in the letter that it sought clarification after the NRCS ignored its instruction to put on hold the NRCS general assembly referring to the ongoing investigation into alleged corruption against NRCS officials. 

Eid- Al-Adha being observed in Nepal

The Muslims across the world are celebrating the “Eid- Al-Adha” which is also known as BakrEid. According to the Islamic calendar, the festival is celebrated on the 10th day of “Jil Hajj” (The New Year.)

PM  Oli returns home from Singapore

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned on Monday after his week-long treatment in Singapore. PM Oli had departed for Singapore on August 3 for his regular health check-up. According to Personal Secretariat of the Prime Minister, his health reports were quite satisfactory. 

Bomb goes off at Birtamod ward office

A bomb went off at ward office in Birtamod of Jhapa this morning. The bomb explosion took place at the joint office of ward 7,8 and 9 of Birtamod municipality at around 4.30am today.

5 children killed in fire at Pennsylvania day care center

A day care center where children could stay overnight as their parents worked was ravaged Sunday by a fire that killed five and sent the owner to the hospital. The victims in the lakeside city of Erie ranged in ages from 8 months to 7 years. The fire, reported at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, was funneling out of every first-floor window when firefighters arrived.
