Govt pays heed to public concern: Chairman Dahal


Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal  has said the government and the party were seriously thinking about the complaints and concern shown by the general public and lawmakers. Speaking in a joint press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal and Press Centre Nepal at Bharatpur airport today, Chairman Dahal, who is also the former Prime Minister, shared that the party was reviewing the government activities to ensure effective service delivery.

WB doubles assistance: Finance Minister
 



Finance Minister Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada has shared that the World Bank has decided to double the development assistance it has been providing to Nepal. The assistance would be doubled for the implementation of the development projects under the government's priority, he added. Minister Khatiwada shared this information after returning from the US today.

First opposition leader Bharat Shamsher passes away

Former Gorkha Parishad leader Bharat Shamsher Rana has passed away in Calcutta on Saturday. He was 93. He passed away peacefully in Calcutta this morning, said his nephew and former Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shamsher Rana.

ICA hosts ‘Bharat Mahotsav’ on 70th Indian Independence Day

The Indian Citizens' Association (ICA) of Nepal, a union of resident Indian citizens living in Nepal,  in association with the Embassy of India, Kathmandu has hosted a cultural-dance-food festival 'Bharat Mahotsav' to celebrate 70 years of India's Independence on Saturday.The cultural program called ‘Barata Mahotsav’ was organized on the premises of Indian Embassy in Kathmandu from 11 am onwards.

Nasa sends probe to 'Touch the Sun' in historic mission
