Choose stability, not anarchy, in this election: Khushbu Oli
He was referring to the statement made by Maoist lawmaker Salikram Jammarkattel against a Supreme Court decision staying the government decision on Wednesday on retiring the eight Nepal Army generals.
”Is it a civilized way of politics when responsible leaders launch such attacks on the judiciary when a court decision comes against their will?" Oli asked. He said planned and deliberate attacks on all the state organs by the Maoists are serious moves and CPN-UML, one of the ruling coalition partners, would take it up seriously in its Central Committee meeting that commenced Wednesday.
The country is not going to have a rule of law and a democratic society if the prevailing situation lingers, added Oli.
Oli claimed if the current government continues functioning the way it has been running now, peace process would not reach a logical end nor will the task of writing of the constitution be complete. “We are going to review our participation in the government in the party’s CC meeting currently underway,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said his party has unflinching respect for the judiciary. He said this during his meeting with India´s Ambassador to Nepal, Rakesh Sood, at his official residence at Baluwatar, Thursday, according to PM´s press advisor Om Sharma.
