MORANG, Nov 12: Police today arrested at least 11 protesters for their involvement in violent activities from various places of Morang.
CPN Maoist has called a nation-wide banda, demanding an end to the thriving inflation and black marketeering.
They were trying to use force to shut down the bazaar and disrupt vehicular movements, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjaya Singh Thapa.
The arrestees include Biratnagar in-charge of CPN Maoist Ganesh Niraula. Likewise, police also arrested some protesters for preparing to organise a torch rally on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, various parts of Morang including the district headquarters, Biratnagar have been affected in part by the banda. RSS
