MORANG, March 21: The Morang administration has issued a curfew order in some places of Letang Municipality since Monday morning after the situation became tense following a controversy over a teacher abusing a student during Holi. A female police personnel was killed in a clash between police and locals at a local school on Sunday evening.

MORANG, Feb 3: Police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a minor in Sandarhainchaki of Morang district. According to Morang Police Spokesperson DSP Deepak Shrestha, Ram Dev Chaudhary, 53, of Sundaraharainch Municipality has been arrested on the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl of the same place.

MORNAG, Nov 18: A fire has broken out at a furnace oil factory in Katahari rural municipality-4 of Morang district. The fire broke out at Global Bio Energy Industry around 5:30 AM on Wednesday, according to the industry. The industry had been producing oil by refining old vehicle tires.
MORANG, Nov 16: Two people including a child have died in a tractor accident at around 8 PM on Monday at Kaseni in Belbari Municipality-5 of Morang district. The deceased have been identified as tractor driver Bijay Hemaran, 22, of Rangeli Municipality-1 and Avinash Marandi, 15, of the same place.
BIRATNAGAR, Nov 1: The floods that hit the Sunsari-Morang Industrial Corridor from October 18 to October 20 have caused a loss of Rs 2.5 billion. Published the preliminary details of the damage caused by the flood, the Industry Association, Morang, said that 41 industries in the Sunsari-Morang Industrial Corridor suffered a loss of Rs 2.471 billion.

MORANG, Sept 9: Bhim Lal Subba, 60, an inmate of Morang District Jail, died on Thursday morning. According to Jailer Ram Prasad Pokharel, Subba of Morang Pathari Sanischare-10 died at a hospital while undergoing treatment.
MORANG, August 2: According to police, Mukhiya had an argument with one of her neighbours regarding a duck which had gone missing a few days earlier. They have taken 36-year-old Anarwati Mukhiya, 55-year-old Bhutai Mukhiya and his wife Sati Mukhiya in custody for investigation.
MORANG, July 10: Police have arrested three people from Belbari of Morang in possession of brown sugar (an adulterated form of heroin). According to the police office of Biratnagar in Province 1, police nabbed two females and one male with the illegal drug on Thursday.

DAMAK, Nov 9: Police on Tuesday morning impounded four trucks with 50 bulls which were being taken to Jhapa from Morang. A joint team of Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force had arrested the drivers and taken the trucks under control at 4 am. According to the security forces, the bulls were being taken to India.

The municipality did not have its own fire engine and the locals had to wait for two hours for a fire engine from another local unit to arrive at the scene. Locals are wondering if the family could have been saved if their municipality had its own fire engine.
