MYAGDI, July 10: At least 11 people are missing in flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall at Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-6 in Myagdi district on Friday morning.
According to Raja Ram Paudel, ward chair of Dhaulagiri-6, seven people of two families are missing in Ghantiwang. “At least 11 people are missing. The floods and landslides have obstructed the roadways. As a result, rescue operation has been hampered,” said Paudel, adding that security personnel and locals have been trying to carry out a rescue operation since early morning.
According to the police, landslides swept away the houses of Dhana Bahadur Jugjali and Bhim Jugjali.
The flood has also swept away a bridge connecting Beni and Jomson, disconnecting Annapurna Rural Municipality and Mustang district.
