Assistance to clear hospital dues

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Mahesh Kharel, a Nepali student at Texas University and Creating Possibilities, a Kathmandu-based organization, have extended financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to the parents of a girl who has not been handed over to her parents by Duncan Hospital in Raxaul since she was born on July 15.



The hospital refused to hand over the child to her mother Shobha Devi Paswan of Uchidi-3, Bara district, as the Paswan couple was unable to clear the hospital bills.



The assistance was handed over to the family through Nepal Republic Media. Republica and Nagarik dailies carried news story about the couple´s plight on August 24.
