Assad denies ordering chemical attack: CBS television

WASHINGTON, Sept 8:Syrian President Basar al-Assad has denied in an interview with CBS television that he was behind a chemical attack in a Damascus suburb last month, the US network said Sunday. [break]



"He denied that he had anything to do with the attack," CBS veteran correspondent Charlie Rose said, speaking earlier after interviewing Assad in Syria. The interview is due to be shown early Monday in the United States.
