KATHMANDU, June 26: In a bid ease the plight of flood-affected people of the far-west region, the Association of St Mary´s Alumni Nepal (ASMAN) has donated relief materials worth Rs 1,68,000. The organization said that 400 mosquito nets, 400 bed sheets and clothes collected from donors and oral rehydration salt were hand over to Arzu Rana Deuba.

The relief materials will be distributed through Rural Women´s Development and Unity Center (RUDUC), a non-government organization of which Rana is the president. The organization has been working in the far-west region since the last 18 years. Several villages, including district headquarters and government offices of the far-west region were swept by the flood caused by the incessant rainfall. Thousands of people have been compelled to live under the open sky. The affected people desperately need food, clothes and shelters. [break]
