Altogether 120 players from nine countries, including host Nepal, are competing in the tournament, according to Keshav Raj Gautam, president of Nepal Zurkhaneh Sports, the organizer.
The other participating countries are India, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Only demonstrations were held on the opening day of the championship. The competition will begin from Saturday. Nepal had earlier hosted the second edition of the championship in 2008.
