Asian-N online service kicks off

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: The Asia Journalists Association (AJA) has started online news service, ´Asian-N´, from Friday.



AJA, which has 46 branches including in Nepal, will disseminate news from all of its branches, according to Nepal branch of AJA.[break]



AJA-Nepal founding chairman Bishnu Nisthuri informed that the online news service ´Asian-N´ will have its central office in Korean capital, Seoul, and the service will be inaugurated amidst a function in Seoul, today.



A message sent by United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the occasion of launching of the service reads that the Asian countries should have to play necessary role to increase the investment for alleviating poverty and for economic prosperity in the context that Asia has been playing leading role for the global economy.



The message further reads, the Asian-N could focus on subjects like climate change problems, sustainable peace, freedom and justice, and Ban said the media could play vital role to establish the rights of the marginalized people.
