ASI suspended

RAUTAHAT (REPUBLICA): Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Harendra Raut Kurmi stationed in Badharwa Police Post, Rautahat has been suspended for assisting in smuggling buffaloes from across the border to Rautahat. According to the Regional Police Office, Hetauda a letter had been sent to the District Police Office instructing the officials to penalize Kurmi.

An investigation launched by the District Police Office found Kurmi accountable for the crime that took place on June 30. Kurmi was said to be working with the smugglers to illegally bring in buffaloes through the Indian border to Sarlahi and Rautahat via the Bagmati river corridor. 

Chief of DPO Rautahat, SP Yagya Binod Pokharel said that they started investigating after finding that Kurmi was in contact with the smugglers through phone.
