BANKE, Jan 11: Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Nepal Police, Gajendra Singh Bhandari, working at Khadaicha Police Station in Banke has been detained by Butwal Liaison Office Nepalgunj, Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The CIAA arrested him on Wednesday on the charge of accepting bribes to release a motorcycle that was impounded for transporting urea fertilizer brought for agricultural purposes.

Deviprasad Thapalia, Assistant Spokesperson of the CIAA, said that ASI Bhandari had taken a bribe of Rs 8,000, adding that further investigation into the matter was underway.
