KATHMANDU, Feb 25: With an aim to promote nature and conservation of wildlife, and to support the conservation of protected areas of the country, Relief Fund for Wildlife Victims (RFWV) has organized an art exhibition named ‘Art for Nature’ at the premises of Nepal Cultural Corporation Jamal, Kathmandu. The exhibition that kicked off in February 16 revolves around the theme of nature and its conservation.
The exhibition features around 17 paintings of various artists including Govinda Dongol, Jasmin Rajbhandari, Keshab Raj Khanal, Kiran Kumar Sigu, Lalkaji Lama, NB Gurung, Nem Bahadur Tamang, Pradhi Rana, Pramit Dhakal, Prithwish Kumar Das, Rajan Pant, Reeta Manandhar, Sangee Shrestha, Sudarshan Bikram Rana, Sunita Rana, Surem Desar and Tatiana Petrova.
‘Art Evolves: Nepali Modern Art’: Review
Under a workshop, the team of artists was taken to Shuklaphanta Conservation Area to observe nature for some 10 days. During the workshop, they not only observed nature but also the local cultures and traditions before portraying their thoughts in the paintings.
“Our objective is to promote artists who work in themes of nature and different conservation areas of Nepal,” said Prabhu Budathoki, president of RFWV. As much as 40 percent from the sale will be provided to the participating artists, while the remaining amount will be spent for another workshop.
The exhibition will continue till February 25.
