KAVREPALANCHOWK, Jan 15: An arson case has been registered against Raman Pariyar, Kavrepalanchowk district member and district chair of National Youth People's Volunteer associated with the Netra Bikram Chand-led Biplav group.
Police on Tuesday filed the case against 30-year-old Pariyar of Panchkhal municipality-7, Hokse for allegedly involved in setting ablaze the NCell tower at Bhumlu rural municipality on 22 February last year.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office Deepak Giri informed that the case was filed against him for causing loss and damage to the public property. Police arrested Pariyar from Banepa municipality-based Godamchowk on Monday evening acting on a special tip-off.
He had already served a short-term jail on the charge of attempt to take the lives of the general public by putting fire on a moving bus. Police had arrested Suntali Thokar, 32, district secretary of the same group, on the charge of arson in NCell tower at Bhumlu rural municipality-5, Salledanda.
