Arniko Highway disrupted

BHAKTAPUR, May 30: Traffic on the Araniko Highway has been disrupted since early morning after a child drowned to death falling in a ditch created during the expansion of the highway on Saturday evening.



Utsav Prajapati, 6, of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-12, of Bhaktapur died after he fell into the ditch.[break]



The road section has been disrupted after the family and kin of the child disrupted the road demanding compensation and necessary legal action against the guilty.



According to Metropolitan Police Circle, Thimi, though the police called both sides to talks, none contacted the police.



Meanwhile, a person died after he was hit by a stone falling from a house construction site in Dolokha Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar Pathak, 46, of Sunkhani VDC-1 of Dolakha.



Pathak who was critically injured on Saturday died on the way to Kathmandu on Sunday, said Bhakta Raj Shrestha, police inspector at Dolakha District Police Office.
