KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Leading a military team, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed arrived in Kathmandu on a five-day visit to Nepal on Friday.
General Aziz is visiting Nepal at the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart Purna Chandra Thapa, the Nepal Army headquarters stated in a press release.
The General Aziz-led team was received at Tribhuvan International Airport by Major General of Nepal Army Nirmal Kumar Thapa.

During his stay in Nepal, General Aziz Ahmed is scheduled to offer garland to Bir Memorial at Tudikhel on Feb 8.
On Feb 9, he is scheduled to call on Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Phokhrel. Aziz will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Thapa on the same day.
Similarly, on Feb 10 he will call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and visit Birendra Peace Training Center at Panchkhal.
The Army headquarters expressed hope that such high-level military exchanges between the two neighboring countries will contribute to strengthening ties between the two countries as well as militaries.
