Army chief flying off to UK on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Oct 2: A four-member high-level delegation of the Nepal Army led by Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung is flying off to the United Kingdom on Sunday on a five-day official visit upon the invitation of UK Army Chief General Sir Peter Wall.



CoAS Gurung will be accompanied by his wife Kamala Gurung, Major General Netra Bahadur Thapa and Lieutenant Colonel Shiva Shankar Gurung.



According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations, Gurung will receive Guard of Honor by 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards on October 4. During his stay, Gurung is scheduled to visit Brigade of Gurkhas headquarters, Gurkha Welfare Trust, 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles and UK Army Headquarters and Defense Academy.



He will return home on October 13, said the statement.
