Army, APF to vie for men’s volleyball title

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Armed Police Force (APF) have booked their places for the summit clash in the men’s category of the ongoing 21st Women’s and 31st Men’s National Volleyball Tournament under the National Sports Council (NSC) Championship.

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Armed Police Force (APF) have booked their places for the summit clash in the men’s category of the ongoing 21st Women’s and 31st Men’s National Volleyball Tournament under the National Sports Council (NSC) Championship.


In the men’s semifinals played at the Pokhara Stadium in Pokhara on Friday, TAC defeated Nepal Police Club (NPC) and APF saw off the home team Western Region securing their places in the final battle.

In the first semifinal, TAC defeated NPC in a competitive 3-2 set, scoring 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 19-25 and 16-14. Likewise, in another semifinal, NPC overcame Western in a straight set of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-23. The host Western and NPC will vie for the third place.


WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Likewise, in women’s volleyball, APF and Central Region will vie for the women’s title. APF defeated Western 25-18, 25-22 and 25-22 while the Central overcame NPC 22-25, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-13 in the semifinals to set the final clash. The Central Region is the only non-departmental team to reach the final of the tournament. 


Western and NPC will battle for the third place. All the final matches will be held on Saturday.
