Wage laborer Milan Gurung was killed with a sharp weapon by an armed gang while he was sleeping in his room, DSP Tul Bahadur Kari said. [break]
According to the police officer, Gurung sustained multiple injuries to his neck and right hand in the attack.
The assailants had locked other members of the family in their rooms from outside before assaulting him.
The motive behind the attack is not immediately known. Police are investigating the case.
