Container workers have been disrupting the highway services since 5:00 am today, saying that Suraj Shrestha, an innocent person, was falsely charged of his involvement in the smuggling and arrested. [break]
Due to the highway disruption dozens of vehicles bound to Kathmandu from Dolakha, Sinhupalchowk, Ramechhap have been stranded along the highway.
Shrestha was arrested from Sangachowk of Sindhupalchowk district with an elephant tusk hidden under the driver´s seat in his vehicle.
The container workers have warned of continuing their protest until Shrestha was released.
Shrestha denied his involvement in the smuggling, stating that he was only carrying the goods belonging to a Chinese national in the pack.
