Party Unification Coordination Committee meeting ends without entering issues 



The meeting of Party Unification Coordination Committee of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) ended without entering the disputed issues relating unification. In the meeting held at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar, leaders have expressed their views on the reports submitted by two taskforce committee in Tuesday, said Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Maoist Center leader, who was present in the meeting.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Thursday has rescued stray animals loitering around the city. KMC rescued stray animals after citizens complained of creating the nuisance on main roads and by lanes. 


Woman strangled to death in Mahottari


Punam Devi Das, 25, of Matihani municipality-2 of Mahottari district was strangled to death. “Das’s body was found packed in a jute sack on Wednesday morning along with a roadside pit near Matihani municipality-4. Das was missing since early Monday morning” said Police Inspector Kedar Basnet of Mahottari. 


Rape cases increasing in Bhaktapur


Rape cases are rampant in Bhaktapur district. Data published by the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, shows that 58 rape and 25 attempted rape cases occurred in the past three years in the district. A total of 13 rapes and four attempted rapes were recorded in the current fiscal year so far, according to the data.
