April 25 earthquake toll reaches 8,020

KATHMANDU, May 10: The Home Ministry has so far recorded 8,020 deaths caused by the devastating earthquake of April 25 and the aftershocks across the country.

According to the information provided by the Ministry a short while ago, a total of 17,866 persons were injured in the earthquake and the aftershocks.Sindhupalchowk district recorded the highest deaths with 3,107 while 1,222 persons died in Kathmandu.

Likewise, 10,803 government buildings were fully damaged while 15,034 others got partial damages.

The Ministry said that 296,903 private houses were destroyed in the quake and 277,050 houses were damaged in the earthquake. RSS
