Two Nepali scientists Aabhas Maskey and Hariram Shrestha who are currently studying at Japanese Kyushu Institute of Technology developed the satellite under the BIRDS project of their institute. The satellite called ‘NepaliSat-1’ was launched at 2:31 am Nepali time from Virginia, United States, according to Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
A Nepal Army soldier sustained injuries in the course of defusing the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)'s group. The soldier, identified as Nayak Dharma Bahadur Thapa of the Kalibhanjyang Battalion, has suffered injuries to the palm in his left hand while trying to deactivate the IED planted on the roadside near the State Assembly at local Nadipur.
