DANG, Nov 27: Jwalamai Battalion of Armed Police Force (APF) based in Bhalubang of Dang district has surrounded around seven Bigas of land with barbwire citing the lack of adequate land for the battalion.

APF occupied and fenced the land of around 18 families for the expansion of its compound, said local Nara Bahadur Gurung.

The Arm Police Force occupied around 15 bigas of land in 2037 and 2059 B.S. that local residents were displaced from their settlements. Though the locals were assured to be provided with adequate compensation, they grumbled that the local administration fixed the least price (0.2 million per Kattha) of their land two months ago.

Land connected with the highway is sold at around a million rupees in Bhalubang.

The victims have been organizing various protests demanding the compensation of the land as per agreement.

The villagers also filed their applications at the office of the Prime Minister and council of ministers demanding proper compensation.
