LAMOSANGHU, March 20: Armed Police Force (APF) Club clinched the title of the fourth San Miguel Sindhu Bhotekoshi Football Tournament defeating New Road Team (NRT) 2-1 on Sunday.

NRT took an early lead in the 14th minute through a goal from Bishnu KC during the final match held at the Basantapur grounds in Lamosanghu.[break]

However, NRT´s lead lasted only six minutes as Arjun Subba equalized for APF in the 20th minute. Subba scored when the defenders of NRT were not in their positions. Both teams were tied 1-1 in the half time.

After the break, Santosh Shrestha scored the decider in the 55th to seal the match. Shrestha scored a rebound in his fourth attempt. Before that, three of his shots were saved by NRT goalie Binay Shrestha but the hapless keeper gave way in the fourth attack.

NRT, fielding two foreigh players, tried hard to equalize but they could not pass the APF defense line. In the dying minutes, Roshan Lamichhane´s shot was foiled by the defense line-up of APF. Subba was adjudged the man-of-the-match.

With the victory, APF bagged a purse of Rs 50,000 while NRT had to settle for Rs 20,000. Santosh Shrestha received the player-of-the-tournament award and took away Rs 5,000.
