DARCHULA, Sept 10: A Border Outpost (BOP) of the Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal has been established at Tinker of Darchula district near Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
APF Additional Inspector General (AIG) Banshiraj Dahal and Darchula's Chief District Officer, Kiran Joshi, jointly inaugurated the facility amidst a ceremony held on Friday.
Delegations of AIG Dahal and CDO Joshi reached Tinker via the Indian route. The entity that is based in Chhayalake of Tinker at Byas Rural Municipality-1 is guarded by 20-member APF Nepal personnel, according to Superintendent of APF, Nepal, Dambar Bahadur Bista.
Bista said the establishment of BOP is aimed at combating cross-border crimes including drug trafficking and promoting border surveillance.
