ITAHARI, Aug 13: Traces of Anthrax virus has been found in Koshi Tappu Wild Life Reserve. Anthrax can be found naturally in soil and commonly affects domestic and wild animals around the world and it is found for the first time here.

It might be a serious infectious disease caused by gram-positive, rod-shaped bacteria known as Bacillus. After inspecting it, the local administration has alerted all. According to Barahachhetra Municipality Mayor Nilam Khanal precaution has been adopted nearby the area where wild animals were found dead due to this infection.
He added that the disease could be transmitted to human beings as well. Chief district officer of Sunsari, Krishna Bahadur Rawat said that it was confirmed after receiving the report from the Biratnagar-based laboratory. He added that the medical team comprising veterinarian doctors has been mobilized to the affected areas.
