PANCHTHAR, Sept 18: Cadres of two sister organizations of CPN-UML-- Youth Association Nepal (YAN) and All Nepal Free Student Union (ANFSU)-- clashed each other here in the district following a dispute over selection of the representatives for the 21st general convention of the ANFSU.

During the meeting held on Wednesday, the committee members were divided into two factions and a faction close to UML leader KP Sharma Oli accused the other group of selecting the representatives unilaterally.

According to Om Khatiwada, a member affiliated to dissenting group, the clash occurred as the establishment faction went ahead unilaterally in selecting the representatives for the general convention.

However, Dinesh Shrestha, ANFSU central member close to establishment faction denied the accusation and said that they were attacked by the cadres of YAN during the meeting.

The district party office has been also vitalized in the incident. Police had been mobilized to bring the situation under control.

Following the dispute, UML district committee has initiated the effort to settle the dispute.
