KATHMANDU, Jan 24: An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale rattled western Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. The earthquake had its epicenter in the Mela area of Bajura district in Sudurpaschim.
Monika Dahal, who is head of the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, told Republica that a 5.9 magnitude earthquake occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
Dahal said the tremors of the earthquake were felt in the wider areas of Sudurpashchim Province.
