KATHMANDU, Sept 14: An all-party meeting called by President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has been scheduled at 1:00 pm on Sunday. The meeting will be held at the President´s Office, Shital Niwas.

The meeting scheduled for Saturday was postponed after the political parties demanded time for internal discussions over a four- point proposal tabled by the CPN-Maoist during the all-party meeting held on Friday.[break]

President Dr Yadav called the all-party meeting with a view to forging consensus among the political parties representing to the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) and 33 parties´ alliance led by the CPN-Maoist, which has been opposing the second Constituent Assembly election. The president take an initiative to bring the poll-opposing parties on board the election process as the major parties failed to bring them on board even after holding series of meetings over the past few months. Still, the poll-opposing parties and HLPC are wrangling over the issue.

The political parties representing to the HLPC are in the line of holding the CA election on November 19 under the current government´s leadership while the CPN-Maoist is calling for the postponement of the election date.
