Amila memorial football in Chitwan

CHITWAN, March 7: Chitwan is hosting a major football tournament for the first time in eight years. The tournament is being inaugurated at Narayangadh’s kyamachaur grounds Saturday. [break]



Sixteen teams including ANFA Academy and Maoist People’s Liberation Army are participating in the tournament. Hero Honda is sponsoring the prizes for the event. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while the runner up will receive Rs 25,000. Both will also receive a trophy each. The tournament will conclude on March 20.



The tournament is established by Amrit Man Shakya, a local businessman, in memory of his deceased wife Amila Shakya.
