MUSTANG, May 8: The local administration decided to close entry to the general public to the Muktinath temple premises from 4:00 pm on May 11 to 12:00 noon May 12, in view of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the temple.
Likewise, the trekkers leaving for Mustang via Thorang la pass of Manang and those going to Manang from Mustang will have to take an alternative route that runs away from the temple premises. According to Chief District Officer Shashi Raj Poudel, trekkers are suggested to use the road to Kagbeni via Chengur, Jhong and Putak on the two days.
This decision will help continue the trek of many trekkers who are currently travelling in the area, western regional association Chair of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal Dipak Raj Adhikari said.
