KATHMANDU, June 4: CPN (Unified Socialist) has made a preliminary conclusion that alliance partners were not honest enough during the recently-held local government elections.
The conclusion was made during a meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Alok Nagar on Saturday to assess the outcomes of the local elections. The meeting has also decided to assign the party's central leaders to collect information from all seven provinces within the next five days about party's defeat during the elections.

Talking to media persons after the meeting, senior leader of Unified Socialist Jhala Nath Khanal said they are extremely miffed with the alliance partners. “We are extremely unhappy. There was never a dignified alliance within this five-party alliance. We have raised this issue within the five-party alliance as well. We will also review our own weaknesses as well,” he said.
Deputy General Secretary of the party Ganga Lal Tuladhar said they have a feeling that the alliance partners did not become honest. “Even as we had our organizational bases and demonstrated our honesty, we have a feeling that we were cheated by the alliance partners in some places. It could also be because of our failure to fully mobilize our strength. We will arrive at a conclusion based on fact and take appropriate decisions,” he said.
The meeting was held in the wake of the party’s failure to achieve good results in the recently held local polls. The meeting will continue at 11 AM Monday
