KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has called an all-party meeting to discuss the Bhotekoshi floods.
The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, at the RSP parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar, the party said. Discussions will focus on the damage caused by the Bhotekoshi floods, search and rescue efforts, relief and rehabilitation, said RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel.
Earlier, Lamichhane had urged party leaders, cadres and supporters to proceed with restraint and responsibility, giving top priority to protecting the lives of people affected by the floods in Rasuwa and carrying out rescue operations.

He urged people at risk from floods and other disasters to move to safe locations, avoid staying in dangerous areas and follow instructions from local authorities and security agencies.
Lamichhane also urged the public to rely only on information issued by official government agencies, local administrations, security agencies and reliable media when receiving disaster related updates. He called on people not to spread unverified information, rumours or misinformation on social media.
Warning that false information could make rescue and relief operations more difficult and create unnecessary panic among the public, he urged everyone to act responsibly during the sensitive situation.
Lamichhane also called on RSP leaders and members from the local to central levels to coordinate with local administrations and security agencies and actively participate in rescue, relief and volunteer efforts.
He said protecting lives, ensuring safe rescue and providing humanitarian assistance should be everyone’s shared priority during the disaster. Expressing solidarity with flood-affected people, he urged them to stay safe and help one another.
