RANJHA, Jan 15: The Aircraft Museum at Besalpur in Nepalgunj, Banke district has formally come into operation from today.
According to Captain Bed Uprety, Chief of the Bed Uprety Trust, the Aircraft Museum has been relocated to Nepalgunj from Dhangadi, the provincial capital of Far western Province, on an coordinated efforts of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City and the people's representatives in the Sub-Metropolis.

The relocated museum is stretched over around 7 kattha land which is also believed to be a research center for students, Captain Uprety said. The museum in Dhangadi, established around a decade ago, had an old and grounded aircraft belonging to Cosmic Air Fokker-100. It was established at the cost of over Rs 15 million. Additional Rs 3 million was invested to relocate the museum to Nepalgunj with the same aircraft, informed Uprety.
The Aircraft Museum in Nepalgunj has been leased out for a decade. It will have a children's park within the premises. Ward Chairman of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-12 Buddhi Sagar Subedi said that the museum was brought to Nepalgunj from Dhangadi to add a new destination for the domestic tourists. The new destination is expected to generate employment opportunities to many locals, he said.
