KATHMANDU, April 12: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the government’s move to suspend the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is an irresponsible one.
Chairperson Oli objected to the government’s decision, claiming that the government had taken action against NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari after the Rs 400 million scandal became public. “NRB Governor Adhikari was suspended after Finance Minister Janardan Sharma’s plan to gobble up Rs 400 million failed,” claimed Oli.

Similarly, he also repeated that the current government is full of corruption and is trying to postpone the local level election slated for May 13. Oli also warned Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba not to repeat the mistake of postponing the election and keeping the local level without the people’s representatives “like you did in 2059 BS”.
Likewise, Chairman Oli argued that the government was conspiring to postpone the local elections by showing the Netra Bikram Chand-led Maoist party and urged the party not to fall prey to the conspiracy of the government. He also pressured the government to release Chand-led Maoist party cadres and create an immediate environment for them to participate in the election.
