KATHMANDU, Dec 10: National football champion Three Star Club’s slim hopes of playing in the playoff rounds of the AFC Asia Cup got shattered after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Friday turned down All Nepal Football Association’s plea to include the team for the tournament.
“We have requested AFC to include Three Star in the playoff but they turned down our request,” ANFA CEO Indra Man Tuladhar said. “Now, we will discuss with Three Star about the matter and decide about the next step.”
The Patan-based outfit was deprived of its rights to compete in the playoff of the AFC Asia Cup due to negligence of ANFA, which did not register the team on the deadline despite the AFC sending letters on three different occasions.
