KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Church Boys United Club of Nepal lost 2-1 to Paro FC of Bhutan in the preliminary stage of the AFC Challenge League football tournament, held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Church Boys United took the lead in the 38th minute of the first half with a goal from Laken Limbu, who converted a header pass from Moses Gaba in the penalty box. However, the lead was short-lived as Kinga Wangchuk equalized for Paro FC just two minutes later.

In the 66th minute, William Opoku scored the decisive goal, securing a 2-1 victory for the visitors. With this win, Paro FC advances to the group stage of the competition, while Church Boys United is eliminated. This marks the first time a Bhutanese club has defeated a Nepali club in a senior-level competition.
